Sitting directly next-door to iconic Nauset Light a few short steps away from the Atlantic Ocean is First Light. This rustic two bedroom cottage has plenty of Cape Cod charm in a truly unique and unbelievable location and is the perfect place to escape from the world to enjoy some vacation peace. Entering the home you step into a wide open living space with vaulted ceilings. You’ll find a kitchen area, dining area and living room area with a slider that provides access to the deck all in this central space. Down the short hallway are the two bedrooms—one with a full-size bed and one with two twin beds. Also down the hallway is the full tile bathroom with a unique frosted glass wall and walk in shower. Outside of First Light is a large mahogany deck with plenty of room to grill and relax. While many vacation homes have a nice deck to relax on, few have a view of the lighthouse next door like this one. This home features a unique wooden path to an outdoor shower off of the deck which gives you the feeling of taking a shower in the middle of the woods. Off the front yard a private path leads you to Nauset Light next door, a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean and a few steps further you’ll find the unmatched beauty of famous Nauset Light Beach. Truly set in the dunes of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the location of this vacation home must be seen and experienced to be believed. As well as the ocean beaches of the Cape Cod National Seashore, Eastham is home to a variety of beautiful Cape Cod Bay beaches like First Encounter and Campground Beach. Due to the unique location of this home, wifi is provided but the service is not always reliable. This is a great home for unplugging, relaxing, and recharging. Eastham is also home to a variety of fantastic bars and restaurants. Whether you are in the mood for Thai Food (Royal Thai Cuisine), a more traditional and comfortable American pub (Local Break) or high end Mexican cuisine (Casa Del Cabo) you can find it all nearby in Eastham. There were a number of issues initially that required intervention, but in all cases the Del Mar staff was very responsive and helpful. There are things that could easily be improved (decent lighting in the living room, etc.). One surprise was that the washer dryer is in an unpleasant basement accessed only by a separate outdoor entrance. However, the cottage has a rustic charm, and the location so close to the beach is fabulous.

We loved the house's close proximity to Nauset Beach. It was charmingly furnished and had a real rustic Cape feel to it. Would give 5 stars had it not been for a real issue with insulation - the first night we were there, the temperature dropped sharply at night and we definitely felt that. The next 2 days were incredibly hot, 90+ degrees, and we felt that as well. The window AC units could not save the house from becoming an oven, so we had to step out and either go to the beach to cool off or run errands / go into town. Lastly, the house could really use a dishwasher as well. First world problems and all that, but doing the dishes after every meal was a quaint reminder of my childhood that I probably could've done without for a 5 night getaway Cape vacation! One more amenity to look out for when going through airbnb listings in the future.

This little bungalow was very charming. Amazing location to the beach, which was really why we were there. The yard was big so the kids could play outside or lounge on the deck. Its location to other points of interest was also ideal for us. The house had a lot of items that were useful, but if you plan to really cook, there are just two small pans and a pot, so bring what you need. The two twin beds were very comfortable, but the other bed was not so comfy and tiny for two people. We had a great time and would definitely consider renting this home again,

Cute cabin in the woods. Proximity to the iconic lighthouse is what made the stay very special and unforgettable. We liked that it was surrounded by the trees, it gave a little more privacy than other places around us. We saw tons of seals on the beach. Overall a good stay!
